To close this out, this is where i ended up.
A+ to left
Both distributors have the same diameter, the A+ uses a different drive arrangement so the A+ drive gear is also needed, the A+ sits lower, flush with the block when the sleeve is removed and uses a different clamp. The solution is to machine the top flange off the sleeve, and fix it to the distributor with a grub screw.
Still need to make a clamp which is a fork clamping the distributor down using the original sleeve bolt but that is no great issue.
