I saw this online yesterday, posted by the person who'd got permission to enter. To say I'm green with envy would be a massive understatement!

Hi,
It didn't work for me earlier either, so I just typed in Dingle Tunnel pictures and viewed them that way.
If I had my way I'd be retrieving that Rover P5 (B?) and the Humber Hawk and taking them home with me!
I can only see one Minor though, not two...…
Best wishes,
Mike.

I am pretty certain that the white VW van crushed by the roof fall is registration: YG04WPL and featured in one of the modern photos (pre roof fall) shown in my link. It is parked directly under where the roof fall occurred which was just to the bottom right of the vehicle access ramp.

Thanks.
We were in Liverpool a few months ago doing a bit of a City Break, went to the museum on the riverside and learnt about the overhead railway, but didn't realising this aspect of it was still around.

Does anyone know if this means the Humber and Rover have been buried / crushed?? :(
Best wishes,
Mike.

The tunnel roof fall was in the part of the tunnel occupied by the garage repair business. The Humber and Rover where in another disused section of the tunnel which as far as I can ascertain is still extent.

So not buried but probably blocked in then...…..
Are there any plans known of to clear the tunnel and re-establish the business or is it now abandoned?
Best wishes,
Mike.

Whilst searching the web I am certain that I came across a picture of the tunnel with the fall debris removed and a reinforced roof supporting arch built under the roof fall. The arch has two tunnels through it so the remaining parts of the tunnel can be accessed.
If you follow this link you can see the two tunnels in the course of construction, one over the vehicle access ramp and the other to allow access to the rest of the tunnel:-

Excellent, thanks for that, hopefully those two access tunnels are wide enough for the cars to be 'towed' out at some point.
Unfortunately I doubt they are big enough to get that rather nice green classic lorry out through, that I noticed when scrolling through pictures of the cars (abandoned??) in there. Not sure what make it is though, anyone? (Link below)
Best wishes,
Mike.

I am certain that the vehicles in question are located between the garage area and the tunnel rail entrance which overlooks the port.
The garage occupies the old station area at the inner end of the tunnel but does not extend into the rail access tunnel which is quite a length.
The new tunnel over the ramp may be the limiting factor for the lorry though the lorry could be broken down if you were desperate to get it out of there.
