Hi,
I have very generously been passed a pair of seven leaf rear springs, I think they are good enough to refurbish, however I am at a loss as to where to get the rubbers and tie bars(?) for the straps (arrowed in image below), does anyone know a source I can get replacements from.
The metal straps themselves seem solid, plus the springs don't look particularly 'flat' (through use), so other than the above, I think a good wire brushing and a repaint and these will be good to go again.......
Unless someone out there feels there's something I've missed?

The original Minor 7 leaf springs did not have a rubber pad between the clip/bolt/tube and spring.
A coach bolt and close fitting (to the top spring leaf) metal tube is fitted between clamp faces.
You could always adapt the ESM clamp

I would suggest that you just fit the coach bolt and tube and use.
My original genuine BMC 7 leaf springs are fitted with just the bolt and tube and the clips have proved reliable.

Unfortunately I do not currently have a link to the tubes and coach bolts but suitable tube and coach bolts are available from the web or your local hardware shop.

There seems to be various arrangements for holding the leaves together. The ones in the picture presumably rely on the rubbers to stop the leaves moving sideways. The conventional way appears to use the brackets themselves to do that job.

I am under the impression that these came off an MM or Series 2 which was broken for spares, they seem to have a brown (ish) paint on them in places, which looks original........There seems to be various arrangements for holding the leaves together. However, from what has been said, I take it they were aftermarket replacements?
Not that it matters, as I said above, they look to be still fit for purpose, after a bit of a refurb, so I shall restore them and put them away in store.
