Just in case you are thinking of fitting a sun shade, first make sure you have 3 pairs of hands, 2 people at least to hold it in place and a spare pair for fiddly bits.
Holding a grub screw, while winding in a bolt and balancing clamps, supporting the shade, without scratching the paint work, is a real test of dexterity.
Almost as frustrating as trying and failing to get pictures the right way up on this website..............

Another quirk of the software I think.
After saving your image, it took me a couple of goes at rotating it and saving again, but I managed to eventually get it to display the right way around. The moral of this story is that the site prefers landscape photos....

And note that if you click 'PLACE INLINE' it doesn't have that annoying 'attachments' surrounding....

I just found that saving an image again (from photoshop in my case), even without any modifications to the image itself made the forum correctly rotate it.

What part of the world do you live in to feel that a sun shade is necessary at the moment

Surely it also keeps the rain off the windscreen

i do think these sun visors are the business. I have one on each of my 3 vehicles.

Well. Fuel consumption should be ok, I left a gap between the roof and the visor so air can pass through. That way it shouldnt get torn off. As for the sun, good point. The tips on rotating photos are useful too thanks. I bought it from Tom Roy. It was painted, as was the car by Andy Denhams paint shop in Darlington. A little extra paint was supplied so I could match the wheels and grill.

Is your Sun Visor steel or Fibreglass?
I have a Fibreglass one fitted and found that it vibrates alarmingly at 40mph.
I am considering fitting a steady rod between the front edge of the visor and the car body between the wipers but if the steel visors remain steady when driving I will be ordering one.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

It is steel, I left a good 1/8 gap between it and the roof to let air pass by, I don't get any vibes from it.
I would also say, I first fitted it as a decorative item, but it has proved invaluable in low sun, I don't need sun shades at all.
