I’ve been thinning out my paperwork and come across some interesting old receipts, photos, and this, I didn’t end up thinning down much !!

I've still got some of those too. They look very old but were issued in the 1970s if I remember correctly but not put into use.

Early’70’s I think. They were ancient then! Presumably dug out from ww2 stocks.

Hi,
If you look at the crown in the image on the top line of the ration book you see it is a 'Queens' crown rather that a 'Kings' crown, which WW2 would have had for George 6th, so despite looking older, they must be contemporary with the period.

Nonetheless, it is a nice piece of motoring history.

I had some for a moped, they were issued for the 1973 Yon Kippur war. The maximum speed limit was reduced to 50mph but the ration books were never used but IIRC they would have allowed you enough fuel to go about 50 miles.
