1275 engine value

Post by andrew.searston »

Hi everyone
I have a marina 1275 a plus engine, all complete with flywheel, back plates manifold. It is in stripped down Staite all labels up ready for reconditioning, what would the value of this engine be if I was to sell it?
Also what do people value 1275 Mg midget gearbox at?
Thanks
Andy

It all depends on condition.
People usually want a running engine rather than a stripped one.

As for prices well I paid £90 for a complete seized 1275 engine with a 12G940 cylinder head a few months ago.
But I have seen stripped engines being advertised for around the £200 mark with complete running engines fetching upwards of £800

As for the Gearbox well again if it is an MG Midget box as identified by the stamping on the main shaft (22G229) with some history then somewhere around the £100 £200 mark but again an unknown gearbox will require a rebuild so the price may be lower.

Where about are you in the country I may be interested in the Gearbox.
