Re: engine type query
Strangely enough, the engine numbering is absolutely nothing to do with the voltage of the ancillary equipment....
As far as I understand, an A Series Engine that's a '12V' was originally intended for 1300 Morris Marina, the 1300 Vanden Plas or the Sprite/Midget.
it probably came from a Midget.
You say you would would 'like to buy parts', but depending on what you're looking to buy, there will be bits that are required to suit the Minor, not necessarily the original Midget.
I've never undertaken such work myself, so hopefully one of our engine gurus will be along to help shortly.

Same place you posted your question.
Use the Attachments Tab and then select the image to upload.
Or if you're on a computer rather than working in miniature on your phone, you can just drag and drop.
NOTE: If you don't click the [Place Inline] button images will appear at the end of your post with a white box around them like this random image I've included.
But if you click [Post Inline] You can position images where you want them without the Attachment border.
IF the file is too large for the site, it will fail to load. It's best to resize images below 1Mb.

Re: engine type query
Thanks for posting the pictures.
The engine appears to be a 1275cc Morris Marina pre 'A' Plus item. If it has the ribbed block it is a a Morris Ital 'A' Plus 1275cc engine.
I cannot see clearly the way the distributer is secured to the block. If it has a 'U' shaped clamp it is a 'A' Plus engine. The early Marina engines had the distributer secured in the same way as the Minor.
Below is a Marina/Ital 'A' Plus engine. Note ribbing on the block.
