wires

Post by Willie »

Don't understand the relationship between the coil wire
colours and having a dynamo Dennis. The ignition coil
has two leads to it, one is black and white and goes
from the coil connection marked 'CB' to the side connection
on the distributor. The other lead is White and is connected
to the coil terminal marked 'SW'. (that is for a standard
Minor with Positive earth),if the car has been changed to
Negative earth then these wires should be swopped over
at the coil connectors. If you have a later coil marked
'+' and '-' then let us know.

not sure he meant the ignition coil - maybe reffering to the dynamo windings?? The thick wire goes to the output (large spade on dynamo) - I think it is usually burgundy/brown ish colour.
The smaller wire goes to the other connection (smaller spade)
what wires
Are you after the wire rating - so that you can re-wire it?
