Hi Guys,
my stereo has an output wire for aerial.. I was just wondering the best way to wire up an electric aerial to my front guard and would it actually fit.. i was thinking of getting this http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 219wt_1163

would you fuse it and use a relay?
Cheers,
Tom

Personally, yes and yes.

That should fit no problem. When installing try to follow the angle of the windscreen pillar as much as possible for the best aesthetics (i.e. leaning inboard and rearward) but make sure you stay well clear of the wheel.

Can't imagine why you'd need an electric one. It's easy enough to pull them up and down. Nonetheless, you'd probably have plenty of room to mount it. Mine's mounted through a hole in the flat spot just in front of the windshield, just far enough outside the pillar to not be an obstruction. Fuse it yes -- never a bad idea. I doubt that you need a relay though, as the draw of the antenna motor should be minimal. The exception to that would be if your using the radio itself to actuate the antenna (which some allow for), in which case a simple relay is probably a good idea.

Ah -- seems Neil and I posted concurrently. Didn't know anyone else was up this time of night!
