Re: can i keep my regulator with an alternator
hi yeah i no the alternator has a built in reg ... i missed the word 'wiring'
my plan is to use the original wiring for the alternator, leave the regulator where it is then with some old wiring fit a dummy loom
so it looks like it still connected
found the site is was looking for
connections as follows
disconect the 'e ' wire ... not req'd
connect 'f' & 'd' together
connect 'al' 'a' and 'd' together
which is what i did to my lotus cortina all them years ago...

It's dark under your bonnet, and a good few miles away, so go on, give us a clue.
Which model of Minor?
What wires (what colours) are connected to each terminal of your control box?
Do any of them look like add-ons, or are they all part of the original loom?
Kevin

Hi
Please see instructions that came with my alternator, it did include the wiring conversion loom that connected to alternator.
I hope this helps with your wiring changes[frame][/frame]
