Wipers

Post by qwerty165 »

The wiper motor parks the wipers across the screen of my 1956 morris minor 1000, I can not work out how to get it to park them across the bottom screen. Am I missing something?

Managed to solve the problem finally managed to get the top on the wiper motor to turn round. However I now need to get the passanger side to work as it is not catching and does not move at all.

Is the arm skidding on the spindle - or the gear wheel worn and not meshing with the rack...... Take the arm off and see....

Managed to fix it, with great difficulty. The spindle had too much play up and down, though it should not be wear as both parts are new. However the problem now is that the drivers side wiper parks at the bottom yet the passanger side parks at the top of the top. What needs to be done to resolve the problem.

But would that not cause the wiper to move the wrong way. Down on to the bonnet and not up onto the window?

Remove the arm and observe the movement on the spindle. With clap hands wipers- one wiper box is above and the other below the rack - are yours set like that ??

I would like to thank everyone for their help as the problem is now sorted. It was as said a case that both wiper boxes were on the same side of the rack.
