Coil Advice Please

Post by myoldjalopy »

Hello,
Noticed today my coil looked a bit grooted so took it off to clean it and the connections. Was shocked to see how rusty it was inside the HT terminal - surprised it worked at all! :o So I cleaned it all out, plus the SW and CB connections and re-fitted. All is well but wonder is it worth smearing some vaseline in there (like on the battery connections) to prevent it getting so bad again?
Thanks,
Pete

Change to neg earth, it reduces the electrolytic corrosion around the terminals

The negative earth theory is more to do with supposed reduced corrosion of the car body.....

In any case, a smear of vaseline is a much quicker, easier and cheaper fix!
