Hi All,
Quick question. As I am planning to upgrade to electronic ignition on my Traveller, which distributor should I get for a 1275 Marina engine?

Re: Distributor for 1275
I have had two premature failures within one year with Accuspark distributor caps-they are rubbish.
Ask the "distributor doctor" or look at his website and you will see why.

Re: Distributor for 1275
For what is regarded as a 'standard cooking' engine, the advance curve is fairly standard. Only if you are looking a a more 'highly tuned' engine do you really need to deviate from the standard supply. That applies to any engine size, within reason, so a few extra ccs per pot in displacement is likely less important than advanced carburation, valve lift & timing, and compression pressures.

Re: Distributor for 1275
Hi,
With my old 1275 I went to a company called 'A series spares', based in Ilkeston (DE7 5HX) for a '25D / 45D Electronic distributor with Magnecor leads'. My engine was an ex - MG Midget 1275 A series. It never let me down. I've pasted a link to the company below.

I believe it was part number: 25D5HVWK198
Best wishes,
Mike.
