Smiths Heater not wired in

Post by MinorBetsy »

Hello. Previous owner said the heater did work but something, something. It’s a 1970 4 door saloon. Think the heater power wire should be green. The green wire into the heater is attached to a black which is earthed behind the speedo. The green and yellow, I think, is the original earth? There are some greens going into the speedo but all taken but the fuel gauge, light/speedo etc, one loose black cable coming off a double connection for the window water squirter thing. Pretty sure the wiring has been messed about with but any advice welcome, thanks.

The yellow and green wire is to the switch on the heater, it plugs into the fan motor, the round bit on the left you can just see the hole it plugs into on your picture. The heater takes its power from a spare terminal on the wiper switch.

Nope still no joy. Black wire that comes from the water squirters did have a spade connection but that didn’t work either when I plugged it into the heater. Took some more pics incase anyone can shed any light. Still a possibility the heater doesn’t work...
