Rear Lights on a 4 door.

Post by Stevearniepalmer »

Hi All
Does anyone know where I can buy some new rear lights for my 1967 4 door .Im trying to continue the restoration of Audrey who is now looking fab .Ive tried all the usual places but no one has them in stock at the moment.
The rear lights are working fine but the chrome is quite badly pitted .
Regards
Steve

Hi,
Blimey, whenever I've been looking for spares in the past there has been loads of rear light units for the later cars for sale, now I can only find the one left hand unit below. Where have they all gone??? :o
Try 'sparesman', Bryan Gostling (club spares), his email address is listed in the mag, that is his preferred contact method. I'm sure he'll have a pair, or a right hand unit to go with the below.
A point to note here is that they are 'handed'.
Best wishes,
Mike.

Edit: Just spotted that you mention pitted chrome, a lot of the originals for sale will have some pitting, it depends what you are looking for. I'd still speak with Bryan, he may have a better set than you have, however if you insist on no pitting at all for the level you are aiming for, then you may well have to wait until the usual suspects have some new replacements in stock.
Best wishes,
Mike.

Well if you want perfect chrome, they are available but you have to pay....unless you're prepared to explore a few auto-jumbles.

Hi All
Thanks for the info re the spares that the club hold .I may well try them.
The two firms listed on as having them haven’t got them in stock I’m afraid.
I asked at a trade stall at a rally and they said that they might have some by the end of the year.

That's a great pity, both those companies are usually pretty good at either removing the item from their website completely, or making them as OoS
