Emptying Master Cylinder

Post by bigginger »

This may just be useful to somebody, I know it has been to me. If you need to empty the master cylinder, get a turkey baster, a large pipette with a squeezy bulb on the top. It makes it a cinch to transfer the fluid into a jar...

Or... a large medical syringe. :D Turkey baster is probably easier to get hold of though. :D

Yup - I can do small syringes by the score (legally, folks - I have to inject myself every day with an MS drug :D) and I could use them too - but the baster is dead easy to find :D

No. You wouldn't want to 'brake with tradition'
Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.

If you are working on the brakes, you normally get ample opportunity to drain the fluid, without needing to take it out of the reservoir :?
But yes, if you want to drain it like that ,it works well. You can even get a huge pippette thingy especially for this purpose (we have one at work)
