The metal thickness of the rear axle casing arms is a full 1/8 inch. I discovered this by cutting one up, as I had been wondering if the pitting on my axle was bad enough to effect the strengh. Hope I'm not alone in collecting this sort of info!

You may be the only one collecting the data , but it's very reassuring as I had to weld up a hole rusted right through our traveller's axle by the U bolts where the mud had stayed for years.
