MOT history from VOSA site.
This is useful, you can find out all the MOT records of your car since the new computerised certifictates were introduced. It shows all failure sheets and what the car failed on, as well as the passes, you need the V5 number or mot certificate number and the reg number.
Quite interesting to look at what a recently purchased car has needed.

Re: MOT history from VOSA site.
Thankyou, that is rather good. Just out of interest, how long do other peoples date back? Mine only goes as far as 2006, I presume that was when it last had a major resto.

I guess it will go back to when each car had its first computerised MOT

checked mine and it started at 2006
Re: MOT history from VOSA site.
Both my cars run back to late 2005/early 2006: guess that's when the computerised system was introduced?
Interesting to read through the history of the g/f's 16 year old golf, and verify that the garage we bought it off had told us the truth about all its faults

Re: MOT history from VOSA site.
When you are using the MOT certificate number info to check the history it will have to be the latest one. I Used this the other day to check when my current MOT runs out but only had the 2008 certificate to hand. Returned result didn't show that the van was MOT'd for this year.
When I used the V5 details it gave a full history to date, phew.

Re: MOT history from VOSA site.
I did this with the Rover when the seller said there were no advisories but the certificate said otherwise. Did it with Agatha too, and turns out 4 fails in 6 years which is a little troubling....
