North American Tire source

For a long time Minor owners in North America have been unable to find the correct tires for their cars resulting in oversize tires being used or 13" wheels being fitted. Neither solution gives the best looking (opinions vary) appearance or the best handling.

Coker Tire now has a 145/14 tire in a Firestone mould. Here's a link:

Coker Tire in Chattanooga, TN is where I am going to be headed in a couple of weeks for new rubber for my Precious...it is less than a 2 hr drive for me and OH!!! Won't my old gal look gorgeous once we get them put on her...

When I get the tires, I am going to go ahead and have all of my rims (spare one, too) sand-blasted and powder-coated that beautiful cream color before putting new rubber on them.......

My husband just completely restored a '49 Harley Davidson Panhead and Coker Tire is where he got the correct tires for her, so, thankfully, we knew who to call for my Precious!

YAY!!!!!!! I am SOOOOO excited!!!

I just got my BEAUTIFUL brand new Goodyear 145 R 14's from Coker Tire in Chattanooga, TN!!!!!!

I am one happy, happy, happy gal!

I have all 5 of my rims getting sand-blasted and powdercoated right now...A beautiful cream color..

Hopefully by Monday I will have new rubber on the ground!

Did I mention that I am EXCITED????

The Coker ones are excellent tires indeed. I bought a single 145/R14 from them to use as a spare (until I have money for a full set of the 145s), and that tire is made well and looks sharp. Good idea to have the rims powder-coated too!

Yes, I thought so, too... Powder coating seems to be more durable than just painting them...

I really don't lnow.. They are Goodyears, but I don't know anything beyond that...

My understanding is that Coker make them themselves with molds they procured from Firestone (curious that Gator's tire was marked Goodyear...mine is Firestone).

The clearest answer as to a location for the factory was here: http://www.hotrodhotline.com/pr/2008/08cokeroct/ A portion reads thusly: "Coker primarily utilizes tire-manufacturing facilities in Pennsylvania and Ohio, but also contracts a small portion of their needs with niche manufacturers in Taiwan, Mexico, Vietnam, and India."

Not as far as I can tell in photographs, Katy -- I'm back at college at the moment. But I imagine if it does have a location name, it won't be relevant anymore, because that'll be the mold's original location (when it was owned by Firestone) and not its current one.
