floppy trafficators

Post by kennatt »

Been refurbing a pair of trafficators and found that one was floppy when in the down position.ie not held firmly down, and would obviously rattle and probably stick out of the slot. On examination found that on the back of the long housing strip there is a tag of metal that protrudes towards the inner side of the mechanism and touches the operating arm , bending this in a touch, removes the slop that it is obviously designed to do and returns the arm to the fully shut firmly held position.
Worth a look if anyone has the same problem. If anyone has and can't figure it out will put a photo on if needed.
Might be common knowledge but just if case.
