Fuel Tank Debris?

Hi
Thought I'd share this one.
I've only recently brought my Moggie and the guy we got it from said he's only broken down in it once when he had a Carb blockage with small partials in the fuel reservoir.
I've just changed the flexible connection between the filler and the tank as it appeared to be the original. Not only was it looking perished on the outside, with a slight whiff of petrol in the boot, but the inside was disgusting.
So before worrying about rusty fuel tank insides, check the flexible section.

Did the new part cure the whiff of petrol in the boot? A fairly commonplace characteristic of old Minors, especially after completely filling the tank with fuel..........

Yep, after having the boot shut for 48Hrs, not a whiff of petrol fumes when I opened it today.
It must have all been vapours permeating the old orange hose.
