Series II Windscreen Trim

Hi
Like a lot of Series II Splitties, Basil has been missing the Chrome Windscreen Trim for probably a few decades.
As it's rarer than Hobby Horse Poop and very expensive if a set should appear, I thought I'd try something.
A few months ago I spent about £3 on 3 mtrs of plastic Chrome door edge protector; its slightly more expensive now, but basically this stuff.

Fitted it this weekend to the car, it's not perfect, but as pretend Chrome goes it's not bad and it's mere pence compared to trying to find the real thing.
I'm glad I tried it.

Well done, I admire your ingenuity and skill, a credit to yourself.
So easy to write a cheque, very satisfying not to, and then come up with practical solution, not concourse,but better.

The corners are a bit difficult, but I'm thinking of trying a warm air gun (hair dryer) on those to see if it helps soften the slight bumps out

A lot of trim bits seem to be virtually impossible to get these days. Speedo surrounds and horn presses for the later cars for example.
I wonder if it would be worthwhile running a Kickstarter campaign to get such things made?
Perhaps not enough volume of demand unfortunately.

It would depend on the demand.
