Eightnut,
I have read a period article about this in one of the various Minor publications. I'll try & find it tonight.
Where are you? 4.22am seems a little odd for UK.

yup, one hour fast at the mo... I think it's always been like this...

So 3:22 am is a pretty weird time for the UK. See if you can fill in your location in the preferences section eightnut...

Eighnut might have to work strange shifts, just like I do!

Amazing story - imagine a car sitting in a garage for 37 years, then firing up after a change of points & oil ! There's a lot to be said for simplicity.

Wow! That Minor came out of use 4 years before my Minor was even built!

I've also got a shorrocks, eightnut. I think I've got all the bits, I was sorting it out about a year ago to fit to my van but got sidetracked and put it away for the time being. If you still need info I may be able to help, although there are points that I need to check. There are some useful sites on the subject.
It's a good idea to fill in your location when posting on the board!

Look up Shorrocks on ebay. I'm pretty sure there was a fitting booklet on there a couple of days ago.
Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.

Eightnut,
Finally found the article. It was in "The Autocar" from 22 July 1955.
It goes into how the owner fitted a Shorrocks supercharger to his 1952 MM.
The kit appeared to consist of:
triple pulley for the fan with twin belts to drive the supercharger,
supercharger & brackets,
oil & fuel lines.
There was a bit of experimentation with the oil metering setting but otherwise all seemed OK.
This article is also in "Morris Minor" by Autocar, published by Temple Press in 1984.
It's a compilation of all the Autocar roadtest articles from 1948 to 1972.
ISBN 0-600-35117-3.
Hope this information is helpful. It would be great to see the car back on the road again, even without the supercharger. It would appear that Low Lights are even rarer in UK than they are here.
If you can't track down the article, I'll try & scan it & send it through.
PM your email address through to me if you need a copy.
