what is this switch?

Post by stephh »

So...for those who didn't see me at the national, I have recently bought another ex-gov disabled minor (KNA 665F) who has been off the road since 1994 and passed her first MOT since '94 on Friday (first time with no money spent on her!). I've now had time to do a bit of exploring and not only does her key turn backwards as well as forwards, I found this switch. What is it for? Any ideas?]

Try turning the lights on, in the dark, then use this switch...if it's the same as my car it wil turn of the dash back light. The key turning backwards, on some cars i have seen anyway, means that certain things can function with the engine off...aka a radio? I'm sure this is probably wrong but it's a start

Hiya Grant,

I'm on about the switch behind that. The one with the chrome circle around it :) x

Not a dip switch/washer or anything like that is it? Could be for an immobiliser but its not very hidden. Or it could just have been a switch that a previous owner fitted in place of something else, so maybe check and see if it is still connected to anything. I also have a mystery switch under my dash, I just switch it when I get bored and see if anything happens
