Longer Body Moulding - beneath rear window query
Hope to make a list of 2drs with this feature - made from c1949 - c1959.
Need chassis, bodyshell codes & body/ progressive numbers please.
ALSO, Tourers with "A" progressive number prefixes.
By the way, does anyone know the FULL body number of NWL 576?
Thanks

Re: Longer Body Moulding - beneath rear window query
Does anyone else have a theory as to why production of the LBM varient
should continue alongside the standard 2dr bodyshell?
Has this ever been referred to in publications dedicated to the Minor?

A member of the South African MM Club was interested in this subject, I will try to find the emails.
The LBM finished some time 1957-8. This will give you an excuse to poke around the cars at the Nat Rally

Please pm the FULL body number ie code & prog. AND BM.

Re: Longer Body Moulding - beneath rear window query
Most logical explanation is that Cowley had the option to convert 2drs to
Convertables and vice versa.
The rear gutter would not be in the way.
Also explain why there were MORE Convertables produced than body
numbers suggest.
Are "Dual Identity" cars simply cancelled CKD's?
Soooo many questions unanswered OR just plain "iffy"!
Probably WRONG on both counts......

Re: Longer Body Moulding - beneath rear window query
Would someone (Mr.Q?) please post a pic?
Basically,an LBM describes the moulding under the rear window which continues
PAST the gutter line - whereas a non-LBM stops AT the rear gutter line.
Also the wiper motor plinth to sort out too..
