back plate
can any one tell me if the back plates on a traveller or minor are the same thickness
Re: back plate
Yes, a saloon's and Traveller's engine backplates will be the same size as long as they are the same size engines.
However, the backplates did vary dependent on engine size - 948cc, 1098cc, or 1275cc.

Re: back plate
As above but just to add that there were two different engine back plates fitted to the 1275cc A series, the one fitted to the 1275cc Midget/Sprite (Pt No: AEG552) and the one fitted to the Marina/Ital.
The 803cc/948cc engine back plate is Part No: 88G226 and is of pressed steel construction.
The 1098cc engine back plate is Part No: 12G275 and is of cast iron and without measuring is approx. 5/16" thick.
