Which type of Jack do you need? Many don't use the standard one which jacks up by the crossmember due to safety issues.

You must NEVER use the standard jack - or anything that uses the crossmember jacking points...... A small light trolley jack is ideal - and carry it with you, along with a couple of slabs of timber. ONLY jack under the suspension - as near to the wheel as possible.

I use a sissor jack for a roadside emergency,got it out of a scrapper in a yard,under the spring at the back and under the suspension arm at the front,safer than the original system,on you and the car .
