What Morris Minor is this, and how much is it worth?
Hi Guys,
Just wondering what Morris Minor this is (Traveller I think), how much do you reckon it is worth? Wood is in very good condition as is inside and the rest of the car, however it is a non runner, tyres are flat and eroding, something has ceased in the engine and the chassis needs replacing at the front underneath the engine, but it has the original owners maintenance manual with it too! I would love to know what I could expect to pay for it as a restoration project! Pictures are attached!

Front chassis legs are not easy to change at all, and probably mean the centre crossmember needs replacing too, as well as the tie plates and potentially the inner wings. That's without even looking at the sills, boxin sections, rear chassis sections, A pillars, etc etc.
Could be the photos, but the wood looks rotten in many places to me. From those photos, and bearing in mind the engine is seized (and no guarantee for gearbox or diff for eg) I would not pay any more than £300 for it, bit everyone is different I suppose. It'll easily cost thousands to restore (particularly if paying someone else) in panels, brake components, engine and mechanical work etc.

If that's your idea of good condition wood----I wouldn't like to see your idea of bad!

As already said it could be a money pit. Get someone from the local club to look at it with you?

be very ,VERY , wary,If the underside has been neglected like the wood(Which looks like almost complete new set required (In excess of £1000) Or there abouts. The underside as mentioned above could run into the upper hundreds, and with the mecanhics needing complete re furb, renew, unless you could do all the work yourself complete with re spray(£1500 about)on its own. Then with a pro refurb you would send a lot more than the car was worth, I could do all the work myself and a very much doubt I could do it and come out with a profit. What a shame another one probably destined for breaking up.

Looks more than a bit crusty. Someone might want to take it on but if you are new to classics I suggest finding one that's been looked after and used regularly. Would cost more to start with but cost less in the long run.

It's a local car, built in Brum, registered in Brum, and after 45yrs, STILL
in Brum.
Not even worth £300, have to concider restoration costs tbh - MAY come
with the all paperwork, service history and the "dead sea scrolls", BUT, it's
STILL a rotten Morris Traveller!

Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!

It all depends how much you enjoy welding, and how much spare time you have.

If Kube33 is still looking for a trav, something a bit more interesting has just cropped up in the 'Cars for sale' section.
Re: What Morris Minor is this, and how much is it worth?
Good idea and maybe offer the owner of this £100 for it to use as spares for it.

I doubt it's even worth £100 - sadly I would say it's long past any possibility of economic repair - but of course, there are folks out there who would turn it round...... But I suspect a budget of £5000 just for parts and materials - never mind any labour.....

I hate to see a Minor go for scrap but there comes a time when the spares are worth more than the car
You would probably need to store the wood over the summer so that it is dry enough to burn next winter
