Seat changes

Post by OHP 900 »

Can anybody help in giving an approximate date for when the seats changed on early Series IIs? I know when it was introduced in 1952 the seats were the same as late MMs, however, at some point in time they changed to the style you normally associate with the Series II (vertical lines and a curved back).

From the cars I've seen I would say late '53. My van was registered on the 2nd of November (1953) and has had red car Series II seats installed during its 'refurbishment' around about twenty years ago.

I'm not sure whether it should have the MM or Series II style seats.

Thanks in advance.
