Where's Roy?
Over a fortnight since his last visit?
Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!
Re: Where's Roy?
I think they lock you up if you have over 50,000 posts! ----- seriously though, hope he's ok.

All
Roy has indicated in some of his most recent posts that he is not well.
All we can do is wish him the best.

Re: Where's Roy?
Unfortunately I received some sad new via the email below that came from the Scottish Railway Preservation Society last night:
End Of The Line
It is with the deepest sadness that I have to advise that Roy Allingham passed away today, Wednesday 19th October 2016, after being ill for some time. Roy, who had been a member for 27 years, was a regular volunteer at Bo'ness primarily in the Steam, Guards, Diesel and Civils Departments and at Exhibitions.
Despite us both being members of MMOC and SRPS we didn't ever meet but I for one will miss his helpful advice and honesty. RIP Roy.

Re: Where's Roy?
That is very sad to hear. He must have freely given many hours of his time on just this forum alone to help others out. He will be missed.

Re: Where's Roy?
Thank you for informing us of that sad news Neil.
Roy was certainly a very big character who loved to share his expertise. I am sure we will all sorely miss his honest no nonsense but helpful postings. My thoughts go out to his family.

I also add my respects, I'm quite shocked at the news. The forum will miss him, regards to the family.

Re: Where's Roy?
Really sad news - I had the pleasure of meeting him at his home a few months ago and can honestly say my car would not be back on the road without his knowledge and support

Oh no!
Very sad news. He certainly left a legacy of shared knowledge that will continue to be valuable for many more years. Wish I'd been able to meet him.

Re: Where's Roy?
R.I.P ROY so sad to here, I was only speaking to him a couple off months ago ,condolences to his family
Re: Where's Roy?
I think from his comments over the last few months it was inevitable that this day would come but no less of a shock to hear the terrible and sad news. I learned so much from Roy, as have many people, and enjoyed his posts and banter - he didn't hold back when he knew he was in the right but was enough of a gent to admit when he was (rarely) in the wrong. So much help and advise given freely and willingly in his own inimitable style that has been so important to so many. Every time someone mentions problems with the coil I will remember Roy's catch phrase but will hold back using it out of respect, there is only one bmcecosse - RIP Roy,
Sincere condolences to all friends and family.

Re: Where's Roy?
Agreed, even from remote South Africa, Roy's posts and pragmatic insights were always a pleasure to read and was invaluable advice for MM owners here.

Re: Where's Roy?
Rip Roy, you will be sadly missed. While I never met him, because of this forum and the minor community I regarded him as a friend. People like him with the knowledge they have are few and far between, his willingness to share his vast knowledge of all things BMC will stay with me forever.
As a mark of respect could we not get together and make a donation to the railway group he supported for many years?

Re: Where's Roy?
Well I didn't know of these recent comments he made, although I read most of his posts, so to me this is all out of the blue. It's very sad.
