Before building their first car in 1913 Morris made bicycles, and also some motorcycles. I'm trying to find out more about the motorcycles, I don't think many were produced. Google isn't very helpful as Morris is such a common name.
Does anyone know more about the motorcycles? I'd appreciate any links to info, old ads, production figures, photos and particularly do any survive?

Re: Morris Motorcycle
Have you tried searching for the biography of "William Richard Morris, 1st Viscount Nuffield GBE CH".
He only made motorcycles for 3-4 years maximum before switching to cars, so that's a pretty brief period of history for anything to survive, especially from the beginning of the last century.
You might try enquiry of the National Motorcycle Museum, they claim 1000+ examples of 170 marques in their inventory, though unless 'Morris' is known to them as 'MMC' they don't seem to have one.

Re: Morris Motorcycle
Thanks. MMC was a different company, in Coventry. The motorcycle encyclopaedia by Tragasch mentions Morris bikes briefly and coincidentally they used some engines by MMC and also de Dion. Morris bought in all his engines in the erly days.
Re: Morris Motorcycle
Interesting topic, this; whilst conducting some research into vintage Morris bicycles, I discovered you can buy new ones from what appears to be Japan, in either Trafalgar Blue or Rose Taupe!

Hmm, wouldn't say no to a tourer in Trafalgar Blue - wonder how much it would be to import one...
