My first car and the one that got me started on car repairs.....and it showed :lol: !!

Smoke grey 1966 Traveller - HHT 211D

I sold this car to a well - known ''specialist'' in the west country in the early nineties.
A few weeks later I returned to the garage and the car was still there resprayed and in immaculate condition so I'm sure it's still out there some-where?

BTW - I have NO interest in buying it back - I have enough cars already - Thank you :D - just interested to know if it is still around.

Can anyone help?

The DVLA site states that the last V5 was issued on 9/3/05, and the road tax runs until May 2006, so it's definitely still out there. It also says the engine size is 1300cc - is that your modification?

Not my mod - it was totally standard when I sold it!

I was the 2nd. owner of this vehicle. Paid 360 pounds for it in Bristol in 1972. It had only 26000 miles on the clock. the seller took me for a "test drive" but wouldn't let me drive it myself! After buying it, I found out why--it jumped out of 2nd. gear! However, it was in perfect condition otherwise.
Took the gearbox apart in the spare room and found a broken bronze interlock ring in the middle of the main shaft. Cost about 1.25 pounds to repair, I believe.
This car travelled many, many miles in the UK without breakdowns and even took the family to the Dordogne safely. Remember being"chased" by a French car on the periphique around Paris until it drew level and a voice said "Ah, c'est une Maurice".......
Sadly, the car went to my ex. when we divorced. She had it upgraded by Charles Ware in Bristol but it sat outside and was getting rusty, so she sold it in 1989.
Now living in Colorado, I own a 1956 restored Tourer ( 1275, discs, alternator, servo e.t.c. ) which is always in the shop.... and have 1957 saloon awaiting restoration for the past 15 years...needs new chassis members but has done only 35000 miles and is complete down to the ash tray behind the brake handle.
This Morris affliction is a disease.
