Horn... location!

Post by psjorge »

Hi guys!

I'm placing another, eventualy, though question:

- earlier cars, MM and Series II's, had a single horn (Lucas Windtone HF1235, I believe) as standard. However, there was the possibiliy of fitting a second optional horn hence ending up with a low tone horn and high tone horn. As far as I could inquire, this was true for home market cars but export cars, such as my own, had these two horns fitted as standard.

Can someone tell me WHERE were these two horns placed? My car had them on the bulkhead, to the left of the battery. Is this correct?

Many thanks,
Pedro

I have looked through my Export version of the Series MM WSM, but unfortunately can find no mention of this.

Hi Judge,

Thanks for your interest.

I usually get my info on Minors either on Ray Newell's "Original Morris Minor" or on "Morris Minor - The World's Supreme Small Car" by Paul Skilleter, which I got hold of a second-hand copy sometime ago...

I'll see if they say anything about this!

Bit of an old thread, I know, but I know an* answer so I thought I'd chip it in. My Mog came with the two Windtone horns; they were mounted facing rearward on brackets bolted to the black radiator cowl surround panel thing, if that makes sense. Here, photo![frame]Image[/frame] This is prior to restoration, but I've put them in the same spot afterward (the other horn is simply a mirror image). Dead loud, these!

*not necessarily the only answer
