Could anyone advise me where I could purchase the black textured paint used on the heater for my 1965 Minor please.
Thanks
Dave

I don't know for definite because I have got the earlier type heater set-up but I suspect it's very similar to the 'wrinkle finish' paint of an MGB dashboard.

Here you go:- https://www.moss-europe.co.uk/paint-cra ... 1048a.html

VHT make a wrinkle finish paint in an aerosol,

It works well if you do it as per the instructions, it's available from eBay and countless other online and physical suppliers,

The only thing I found is if you go to use the can again in months to come it's no use, it appears to loose it's wrinkles, oh and don't use it in the cold, it really doesn't like it.

I always figured it was rust making the paint textured :D

If you want it to look truly original then don't forget that the heater (I'm presuming you have the rectangular Smiths one since you say your car is '65) also has those white painted wave/arc patterns applied over the black.

Not sure how you'd easily recreate them, it's why I've never repainted my rusty heater. I always wondered if you could get a decal/rub on transfer made that mimiced them.

The same heater was used in the Mini during the same period. Because of the demand from Mini owners, all these parts are available and Mini specialists will supply a lettering/transfer set to do this job.

Here's what my Smiths heater looked like before and after using the VHT wrinkle finish paint. The fan was swapped out for a high efficiency speed controlled computer fan.
