Series mm rear seat strap

Post by seriesmm_1 »

Does anyone have a photo of the rear seat securing strap on the series mm.Some little kid ripped it some 50 years ago & now has to replace/renew it.Every thing come home to roost !!! I believe it is a spring loaded catch which sits over a domed rivet,if anyone can help that will be great also where can I get one, have been on the net but no luck so far.

Try this http://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/c-58-lift-the-dot.aspx
You will need the lift dot fastener part no 07 or part no 07a if the leather is thick and part no 12

You could use an old leather belt or a strip of leather-cloth for the actual belt

It is the same lift the dot fastener as fastens the carpet in front of the handbrake. When you change the carpets you can unstitch it and use it for the boot strap

I didnt realise that its on the carpet aswell,I'll have to dig the carpets out & have a look,I'll have plenty of them as you can only buy them in packs of 10

I would like to point out that the carpet fasteners are not the same, they are the same as the lift-a-dot on the corners of hoods, the carpet fasteners are dura-bases and carpet dura-tops. most trimmers will be able to supply both

I don't know about that, all I know is that I took the strap off the old prop shaft tunnel carpet and screwed it to the rear seat back and clipped the fastener to the old stud on the parcel shelf
