Steering Wheel Woodruff Key

Post by tortron »

Yesterday i put the rack and suspension back in my minor, and then noticed i had some play in the steering that wasnt there before.
hmm, no play in the rack, or any of the suspension.
how strange, the play is inbetween the wheel and the column. I think this must be one of the very few parts of the car i haven't taken apart yet
the nut was nice an tight, but on removal i was a little shocked to find the woodruff key missing, there was a slight smear of something like "no more nails" holding it together.
my mind flashed back to every bump in the road i had hit, and every corner taken with gusto over the last 8 years of owning this. So i am probably very fortunate it decided to work loose while the car was up on jack stands.

Does anyone happen to know the correct size i need?

I may have a spare woodruff key for an MM if you still need it....would not be too costly to post, even from Australia!!
