Re: MM gearbox
Same internals but the casing is different. I have recently o/h my spare and the guts of the 1939 series E box went straight in to my MM casing.
Re: MM gearbox
The club has two second hand units if you need a spare, contact Bryan G

Re: MM gearbox
3-speed is shorter so that it doesn't have an extended casing that goes much beyond and inch aft of the back edge of the top cover plate, if you see what I mean.

Re: MM gearbox
The g'box of a Series E and MM are identical except for the rear housing refered to as 'Casing - speedometer drive' in the manual. The mounting lugs are different and possibly the speedometer drive gear.

...or is it the iron casting you need. I'm not sure from your description.

Re: MM gearbox
Hi thanks for reply.
I’m after the gearbox tail casing that the speedo drive listed fits into.
I have an mm one to swop/ deal on.
Thanks mark

Re: MM gearbox
Ah, right. The bit that the engine mount rubbers bolt onto. Series E ones further forwards?
I've probably only got Series 1 or 2 castings here but will have a look.

Re: MM gearbox
Yes that’s the one. Cast iron with rear mounting hole lugs.
