Members Area Permissions.

I have been trying to read the posts in the 'Members Area' of the Message Board since the new web pages were released but despite the efforts of Cameron Shaw and Liza (admin) I still do not have permission to view the content of the 'Members Area' :(

Is anyone getting access to this area or is the web page not working?

Hi Rasputin,
So can you open the Club Spares section?

I'm not allowed to access that area, and I've been here for years! :D

Thanks for letting me know.

The members area used to work when a user name and password was printed in Minor Matters but does not work since the new web pages have been released. It's interesting that Rasputin can see something, so he has permissions set but les is also denied permission, clearly there is an inconsistent setting policy being applied to members permissions!

I will try again to get this sorted out :D

For info, the club spares section has not been updated for nearly 4 years. For details of current stock see Minor Matters.

Hi Louise, not only is the club spares section out of date but other sections either need to be updated or pruned to tidy up the web pages. I only asked Rasputin to open the club spares section to check if the page was working. There are some sections that could be useful or even essential such as General, Questions for the Committee and Ideas. I would however like to see the club spares section kept up to date but realise that that is quite a task.

:o You're right BEJT1 - access to the Members Area does not seem to be allowed for me either and I am a fully paid up member! I know you used to be able to give it the relevant username and password to get in but I cannot even see where to type them in now! Good job I don't often frequent that part of the site!

Must admit I never bother with the members area. It's too much hassle to search for the latest Minor Matters and then find the right paragraph on the right page....

I'm with you on that point, I just tried it because the issue was raised. Dare I say we've got half the forum we used to have.

The forum is not the same without Roy[Bmc] or is it just me .We were asked what we wanted from the forum but it fell on deaf ears because it is the same but at least the old one worked .When will the club learn to listen to its members as without them there is not a club.

Please alter permission to enter members' area of this site by be able to enter MMOC membership number. It would seem a logical way which the new site should allow

That seems simple and sensible.

Just wondering if we are any closer to being allowed to access the Members Area?

I see in the latest Minor Matters in Ray's Ramble that '...offers, information is being placed in the Members' Area of the newly installed MMOC website. .....'

But I am still not being allowed to get in!

I get exactly the same message. I am logged into both the site and the message forum. Quite irritating really.

I know that Cam (webmaster) has had lots of contact with our IT provider over this problem. I don't know what the outcome was so will contact Cam for an update.

It may be all to do with the apostrophe: it is described as Member's Area. Maybe only one member can have access? I wonder who?
Sorry...

Not sure why we need a Members' Area anyway.

What's so secret?
