I think I posted last year with pics of my sofa:

The roof rack has been used since then to move a bookcase and several large loads of wood and flatpack furniture.

Here's whats on there at the moment, waiting for a lunchbreak tip trip:

Best thing is - I got the rack for free from a work mate. Its a Thule one. :D

I don't see any reason why not?

Should work better on a trav. On a saloon the gutter tapers away at the rear so most roofracks don't have long enough 'legs' to reach it.

You could probably fit two of em on a traveller - back to back, make for a mean load carrying machine. :lol:

I've also got a pair of bars that fit the gutters but don't clear the roof. With some DIY extensions to their 'legs' (chop em in half and weld/bolt a bar in the middle) they could be made to fit easy enough.

guttering strong enough, when i get to florida in a month will buy a thule. loads cheaper there. dollars instead of quids

yes, the traveller gutter is made of folded aluminium which is held to the timber with (old) nails.

Guttering nailed to the ash frame?

I didn't know thats how it was done. Some of the wood loads Ive had on there have bent the cross bars on the rack - I hate to think what they'd have done to a trav roof!

Only good thing is the rack is very rigid when assembled so its 'legs' don't bend outwards when under load.

Of course If you're lucky enough to own a trav - can't you just push the back seats down and use it as a van?

Roof racks certainly rock!

I have mine on the traveller so its on the forward section of guttering on the cab roof and the back legs as far forward as poss because of the wood and alu guttering.

When im not using the rack instead of taking it off I just strap my old suitcases that I got up the tip to the roof rack and it looks great! :D

If only it were that easy. :lol:

Most of em are only good for seperating vegetables and pasta from boiling water!
