'ello folks,
My mum's asked me to bid on a car on e-bay for her, it's in Norfolk and - well - she's not. It's not MOT'd either (it is from 1975 tho') - would anyone be able to lend a hand getting it back to near Newbury? Obviously I'd pay for fuel and food and such... It's roughly the size of a mini, but weighs in a fair bit heavier... (It's an Enfield, for those who're aware of 'em).

Well I had not heard of one before, interesting though
For the price of a Rover 3500, here was a tiny, utilitarian two-seater with goofy styling (it looked like one of the cars Inspector Clouseau drives in the Pink Panther cartoon series), a top speed (with a following wind) of 48mph and a range of maybe 40 miles between charge-ups.
Expensive car then.
The survival rate of the Enfield is good and the car has some committed fans in the Battery Vehicle Society (www.bvs.org.uk) where mint examples can change hands for £30,000.

Aye, only it's more like 3,000 and that's for an incredibly good example. I missed, sadly, getting an almost pristine one for 2300. Unless the bloke never turns up to collect it :-/
Sadly having chatted to the bloke the batteries in that Enfield are possibly suspect, and I'm not willing to go beyond a price where suspect batteries are replacable....
