OK, who has my sparkplug wrench?
I'm sure I had it yesterday, but now I need it I can't find it. Typical.

I always find that the best place to look is the 'somewhere sensible' that you left it.
Unless it was my motorcycle keys, which were in a wooden ale mug in an unmarked box. They were quite challenging to find.

In the bottom of a locked filing cabinet in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying "beware of the Leopard"...Pyoor_Kate wrote:Unless it was my motorcycle keys, which were in a wooden ale mug in an unmarked box. They were quite challenging to find.

Having found your keys, did you remember what possessed you to put them there?
I can't remember where I left the wrench. I thought it was with all my sockets but this appears not to be true. Oh well, I guess I'll run the old ones for a bit longer...

I once lost a critical parts off a carb I'd dismantled to clean.
Looked everywhere but no sign.
I got a mate to run me to the scrap yard where I dismantled another carb for the part.
Managed to get it all back together and went inside for a well earned shower.
After the water had drained away there was the part lying in the bath
I assume it somehow got caught up in my hair.
No chance of that happening now though as no hair left !

I met a planning officer at a recent con and he told me it was his job to prevent trees being cut down. I asked if that entailed lying in the path of a JCB, and he proceeded to recite that whole passage, only forgetting the bit about the sign on the door.JimK wrote:In the bottom of a locked filing cabinet in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying "beware of the Leopard"...

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.

I once had a small spring fly off and disappear when I was dismantling something. After a couple of hours crawling about searching the floor of the garage for it, I put my hand into my pocket for my handkerchief and found the spring inside.paulhumphries wrote:I once lost a critical parts off a carb I'd dismantled to clean.

Surely I'd need to get 42 points for getting the reference. In the bottom of a locked filing cabinet in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying "beware of the Leopard"...

And no, I never did work out what posessed me to put them in that box. Why I didn't leave them, say, with the bike at my mum's house I've no idea...
