Looks quite nice Image

although I won't be buying one, it has to be good news for employment in the local area.

i live just up the road from longbridge and have been seeing these new MG's for months! must be pre-production mules. every time i see one my mind goes all over the place trying to work out what it is, i normally think 'oh that's a funny looking astra, or is it a ford?' and then i notice the MG badge an go 'eurgh! what a [self editted by poster to avoid annoying anybody] car!'

Oddly it was designed and developed in the UK.. but looks so Chinese. They do build them in China too, so I guess they had their own market in mind. Personally I'm not that keen on it, Britain can design damn good looking cars when given the resources.

as far as I recall, the russians have owned TVR since the Sagaris. Besides, maybe some modern quality control could make the car what it should have been! im sure Trevor would want to see the brand being successful again.

From comments on another forum I frequent, the MG6 seems to be screwed together pretty well - certainly better so than in the final few years of MGR.

They look to be decently specc'd and competitivly priced for the market segment they are going for, and if I was in the market for a new car I'd certainly be giving one consideration.

Personally I think it looks like a kia/hyundai or something like that (korean) from the pic - but I will reserve judgement until I see it in the flesh.

If it doesn't have a reasonable warranty I doubt it will sell well...

Be interesting to see how long the diesel is away.. at launch it is only fitted with only a 1.8 chinese petrol engine. China don't do diesels, so either they are developing something or buying one in.

I think "want to have kids again" is a euphemism for stirrings in the trouser dept. :)

Best looking car in the world (IMHO) - I get to see lots of these (XJ-L) every day.
There's room for 7 foot tall kids in the back...

With a site full of Range Rovers and Jag's it's harder to get back into my bargain-basement noisy sluggish eurobox at the end of the day..

I was planning to! Then it dawned on me that the MOT had recently run out  :x
I'm hoping to rework the brakes ready for MOT within the next couple of weeks.

" fitted with only a 1.8 chinese petrol engine " - I really can't understand anyone buying a petrol engined car these days - unless they plan to fit an LPG kit. So far - only Proton are selling an LPG car off the shelf.

a LOT of people buy petrol cars... In the EU the % is roughly 50/50 but the US is still yet to be educated on the benefits of diesel for cars. because of this, us Hybrid guys need to think about petrol hybrids as well as diesel hybrids - twice the work is twice the need for engineers.. 8)
