Hi Roy,
I tend to use Google chrome and an ad blocker called UBlock, https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... iagm?hl=en
It works for me and speeds up pages loading.

I use adblock plus on my browsers, never use internet explorer.

Also Ghostery to deal with tracking cookies.

Adblock Plus seems to remove most of the rubbish. A red octagonal symbol with ABP inside

First thing I did when Santa brought my new lappie was create a local account, not a microsoft account. I then turned off targeted advertising in every browser. History is disabled, adblocker added. I disabled add-ons and run all browsers in minimum configuration. I block all spam. The result is a very fast laptop, minimal spam and zero popup ads. Windows 10 is the most unprivate OS yet, in standard form everything you do is recorded and tracked. I've also re-enabled IE, but it runs 'In-private' by default (to do this just right click on the IE icon and add -private after the URL). If you use encryption use a third party solution.
