Aluminium glue

Post by IaininTenbury »

Hi folks,
Just a quick question in case anyone here has experience of this. I need a glue to bond 2 pieces of sheet aluminium together. Seen it done before but it was some MOD two part epoxy with only an MOD serial number on it. The join ends up stronger than the base material - any idea where to get it and what to ask for in the real world?
cheers
Iain

Iain,
If you look on the interweb for "Loktite aluminium adhesive" you'll find plenty. However, I've used Araldite (and it's Wilkinson's cheaper variant) for years on metals without failure (including dissimilar metals). Just do the obvious cleaning and you'll be alright.
