Retro phones
I see the new Nokia retro phone was put on sale today. I might have considered one, but just bought a new Doro...best older person phone ever!

Re: Retro phones
Is this phone out? I asked in the EE shop and Carphone Warehouse and they both said they had no word on the release date.

Re: Retro phones
Does anyone really expect honest, unbiased, informed and up to date advice in a mobile phone shop?

Re: Retro phones
1932 Siemens 'desk-top' telephone in white bakelite. Weighs about 3kg. Back in the day, black telephones were included in the customers' line-rental charged by the Post Office. Coloured (white, red or green) phones cost extra. Siemens were slightly cheaper than the Post Office's own phones although they looked virtually identical.
I'm a half-hearted collector of bakelite stuff!

Re: Retro phones
In 1990 a few of us Coal Board people were given a suitcase full of batteries with a phone on the side to share if we needed to go on pit visits. It was almost totally useless. So they gave us pagers. They were very reliable.
