Or if you have faith, pray, for our 3 year old granddaughter. 2 weeks in ICU at Glenfield hospital with heart failure.Wish they could be fixed as easily as a Minor :(

Steve
Whilst not as easy as fixing a Minor - thankfully the majority of heart problems these days can be fixed in one way or another.
Miracles do happen and heart surgeons these days are able to do the most marvelous of things.
Keep the faith and keep thinking in a positive way.
Yesterday I was in the company of a six year old who has gone through the masher with heart problems and a nicer little chap you could not wish to meet.
You would not think that he had gone through all he has.
He is an example to us all.
Phil

Echo those posts. As a cardiac patient I know the expertise of our NHS cardio surgeons and the miracles they do. Wishing you well.

I can't imagine how worrying this is for you and as I recall it comes soon after you mentioned your mother going into care. Suffice to say, I hope great grandmother and great granddaughter come out on top.

So far as I am aware, modern people (Unlike modern cars) still don't have ECUs fitted, which can only be a good sign :D .

I will keep your family in my thoughts. Please update us when you have news.

As an aside, and not meaning to start any political debate - it's a wonderful thing you have the NHS to care for her. Here in the States, new parents with the same quandary would be looking at hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical debt. A big reason I haven't had children myself yet.

Thanks chaps. It's not been a great few months for the family.
The good news is that she's out of ICU and they are controlling her heart with drugs. These can be used for a year max before side affects become concerning. They will likely do an ablation op before then to destroy the part of the heart that is beating incorrectly. She's being scanned to assess damage to other organs.
6 kiddies in a million get this, so it's like a reverse lottery win. Strong chance that if they get her well enough she'll need a heart transplant.
