Re: Wishing all MMOC forum users and members a Happy Christmas
And a Happy New Year.
It's 34 years, today, since my father and I went to view the MG V8 (In my Midget) and to my amazement, when we took it for a test run, he asked me (Then aged 19) if I'd like to try it. He had owned a V8 back in 74 & 75 and it was a car that made a big impression on me, so I was hardly likely to say no. It was a good straight (And quiet) piece of road and he told me to give it a bit of welly. Having never driven anything faster than my then standard Midget 1500, I was surprised how quick the revs built up but we accelerated (No wheelspin start) briskly up to 60 or 70 and then I settled down into a gentle run, before my father took over.
As it's 34 years since I first drove it, I took the V8 (Now in my care, though my father is still with us ) for a spin this morning, for the first time sporting it's MMOC badge . I was in the Bugatti Owners Club due to my former hillclimbing days but I've not been in that for some time, so I decided it was time my badge bars reflected reality.
Has anyone else got any New Years Day car photos?
