Re: Lowering blocks question?
Consider getting a machine-shop to fabricate some 2 inch blocks for you. It'll only need 2 aluminium rectangular billets, turned both ends to form a 'peg' one end and a pocket the other.
The u-bolts that come with the lowering block kits are plenty long, so will cope with the extra half inch so long as you're not using van springs.
Probably worth buying a whole lowering block kit for the u-bolts, and for the blocks as 'patterns'. Gives you something to lend to the machine shop and say 'copy these, but thicker'.
