On the contrary, I think it's saying "At last someone is going to restore me!" You've got so far so quickly - keep up the good work! :D

Suppose I was looking more at the meaning of the word prosaic - (dull/mundane) and I think it's far from that. I'm sure on the inside the little thing is getting extremely excited and will eventually be very happy!! Honestly we talk about these little beasts as if there were people

Early days, but it looks like the wheel arch in the picture is saveable, and as the repro ones are of a slightly different profile it's worth considering (you can buy the floors without the arch).
Mind you the difference is not great so you may feel buying the complete floor sides is the way to go.
Nice to have the top plates, chains and corner brackets.

several options there, thanks Les. J sorry to let you down, theres not going to be any reving up and burning rubber at the traffic lights here, I'm putting things back to how they were. Well, thats the plan. plain and simple 50 miles an hour, where everyone knows you're a slow classic so why bother tail gateing.
smile, you never know, you might be winning.

No Bristol Centaur radial piston engine, its a fascinating place did you notice the WW2 gun to the right of the minors front wheel?
Its a secret location in Scotland (owners request) full of interesting but to far gone stuff. This is in the roof of one of the buildings!!!!

Better shot of the gun.

Is that a Naval 5 inch gun leyther? looks like its come from a WW2 Flower Class Corvette. Anyway, back to work on the old Pickup, wing removal must be a doddle compared with fitting replacements.
Image
mind you that cut edge is razor sharp, but the bolts are easy to get at now. Can anyone reasure me that wings and doors of pickups are standard, same as the saloon/traveller?
Image
