Well I got it in aerosols

Basically its a flexible paint to try and prevent stone chips!

Is it flexible enough for rear leaf springs as well as the underbody and chassis do you think?

I would just use hammerite for the springs! Chassis would be okay, but I would also consider using chassis black

Today the home made dolly helped me move my project through the gates at last. The next thing to achieve will be upending the cab backwards and removing chassis wreckage still holding on., the cab will need strengthening first

removal of the front nearside wing followed, the wing is scrap, so the attachments like this wing mirror can be cut neatly out.

Very interesting thread.

Just a suggestion, but perhaps there needs to be a new forum opened for 'ongoing projects'? It would be useful to have threads relating to restorations in one place for ease of reference.

Today it was time to remove the windscreen, the rubber had perished so it was just a case of stanley and me cutting the rubber and pulling the pane free, to be stored out of the way and somewhere safe. The loft.
As you can see from the close up, only surface rust apparent in the windscreen body joint.

The stripping of components from the engine bay was next, I always get jittery when large area of cable gets cut, I wonder if I'll be able to replace it all when the time comes

Good location photography will become invaluable to me later when I can't remember what goes where. erm, can anyone tell me what this is? there's no mention of it in my manual that I can find, it has a hard rod that heads back through the firewall on the nearside.

Thats the windscreen motor & gearbox.

Advice I'd give you re re-wiring - where possible leave stubs of wire attached to everything so that when you re-assemble you know what wire goes where.....

Er thats the Windscreen wiper motor. The rod is the bit that rocks the arms.

To remove it take the 4 tiny bolts out of the top plate (mark the round bit to plate position with a pencil) then disconnect the rod from the gear wheel inside the unit.

When the rod and assmbly are seperate you can undo the 3 rubber mounted nuts under the bracket. Awkward little suckers as I remember.

"It may be a wreck, but hey, it's my wreck." here the bottom bolts that mount the windscreen wiper motor come out with only slight agro. the engine bay is nearly stripped now, next comes the steering system, front suspension. I hope
